Kevin Curran
Rhythm guitar, Acoustic guitar, Lead vocals, Writer
“Grew up someplace and became famous for procreating a multitude of rug rats”
Kevin Curran Lead singer and guitarist for Hailmary immigrated from Scotland to Australia when he was just one year old. Kevin’s early days of guitar playing started when he was twelve years old after he saw a young lad playing guitar on TV roughly his age who had leukemia and Kevin’s parents thought he was amazing. At that point Kevin knew where his destiny waited. He purchased a $40.00 guitar and his dad who knew the basics taught him how to play chords. This early passage of time in Kevin’s life taught him to write his own music instead of learning cover songs. A testament to his ability as the main songwriter for Hailmary is apparent on the first two albums.
Kevin’s first gig he ever played was a band he was in at music class in high school, he played guitar and the band played a lunchtime show playing various cover songs from bands like Nirvana, they named the band Imodium but not long after that adverts came on TV advertising Imodium as an anti-diarrhea tablet which was pretty funny, so they started using the catch phrase “music that doesn’t give you the shits”
Kevin’s first true taste of playing before a live audience at a gig was with a band called Shogun. Playing just two gigs the band broke up and was never heard of again. Over the years Kevin’s talents were included in various other bands that never amounted to much until he met Todd Fishwick and the two started jamming together and formed the group Hailmary.
Kevin uses a Black 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom as his main guitar of choice and a Budda Superdrive Series II as his amp of choice.

Todd Fishwick
Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Back up vocals
“Living in the outback building sandcastles and snow boarding”
Todd Fishwick one of the founding members of Hailmary, broke into the music scene when he was 13 years old having self taught himself to play the guitar for the first three years, after that Todd took lessons to hone his skills and this opened up a whole new outlook and versatility in his ability to expand his musical talents into many different genre’s. He also studied at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) and received a diploma in Contemporary Music which also advanced his musical talents and led Todd to meet Hailmary’s future Drummer. His first song that he learned to play was Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” during his self taught years.
After having mastered guitar playing Todd decided to form a band of which lasted but two years and having never played a gig. This undoubtedly opened up doors for Todd as his tenure with his first band gave him the foundations to play as a cohesive sound with other band mates. The day his band broke up in 2003 is the day Todd answered an advert from Kevin Curran who had posted an ad looking for a guitar player. The two of them started jamming and have been together ever since. This was the beginning of what is now Hailmary.
